From the 26th to 30th November 2018 the members of ReIReS will attend a workshop on the FAIR principle for digital Research Data Management in Mainz.
This internal activity will gather ReIReS partners from different institutions among them: the Leibniz- Institute of European History (Germany), Brepols publishers (Belgium), The Foundation for Religious Sciences John XXIII (Italy) und KU Leuven (Belgium).
The workshop is devoted to the fair principle of sustainable data usage and production. The abbreviation fair stands for
- findable,
- accessible,
- interoperable, and
- reusable
data. The participants will learn how to sustain these principles and get acquainted with infrastructural solutions, which works according to them.
On the first two workshop days Brepols publishers will introduce their data and data workflow. From Wednesday on, the current trends in the digital humanities are going to be presented. The leading European projects: PARTHENOS, CLARIN, DARIAH-DE and EUROPEANA will provide an insight to their data infrastructure and give hands-on sessions.
The two last slots of the workshop are reserved for the data standards and digital infrastructure discussion within ReIReS institutions. Participants will elaborate on the basis of received information and training sessions how fair principles of research data management can be implemented in their institutions.
