One of the aims of ReIReS is to foster internal knowledge transfer among its partners. Earlier this week, Anna Skolimowska of the University of Warsaw implemented this very concretely by handing a set of precious books containing texts and correspondence of Ioannes Dantiscus to Valentina Calvelli, librarian of Fscire in Bologna.
In her contribution to the workshop, Anna Skolimowska presented her research project on the texts and correspondence of the famous Polish bishop Ioannes Dantiscus (1485-1548) as a case study. The training itself focused on the fascinating tool Transkribus, helping researchers transcribing (handwritten) texts.
At the end of her contribution Anna had a surprise: she gave the books she published on the texts and correspondence of Dantiscus to Valentina Calvelli, librarian of the hosting partner Fscire in Bologna. Valentina was very happy with the Polish gift, a precious addition to the collection of the library in Bologna.
Valentina: “Now we are one of the few libraries in Italy which has those precious volumes in its catalogue. Can’t wait to add them!”
