November 11, Students of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz have been trained in codicology and paleography, as a result of an earlier ReIReS school in the Gutenberg city.
In September 2018 the first ReIReS school was held in Mainz, whereby the attendants learned among others about codicology (the study of manuscript books) and paleography (the study of ancient of historical handwritings).
Max Künster, most right on the picture, was one of the participants of the 2018 School, and now it was his turn to train his fellow students. It resulted in a learningful session, making use of the precious holdings of the Martinus Library in Mainz. Librarian Martina Pauly (centre right) welcomed the group.
