Description
Brepols Publishers is a well-established international academic publisher of works in the humanities, publishing books, journals (in print and online) and online databases. Publications are in English, French and other international languages, as well as classical languages like Old Greek and Latin. Late Antiquity, the Middle Ages and modern history, each time including religious history, are amongst its strongest publishing domains. Brepols publishes source materials, studies, reference works, bibliographies etc., and employs in-house specialists in each field. Brepols’ publications are distributed to a worldwide audience of scholars, specialists and institutions (98% of the turnover is exported). Brepols publishes in traditional ways as well as in Open Access and (co)invests in research projects. Brepols also has experience in organizing conferences, seminars and trainings and operates as IT-consultant to research partners. Brepols Publishers is based in the Beguinage of Turnhout (Belgium / a Unesco world heritage site) and has editorial offices and collaborators in Nottingham (UK), Los Angeles (USA) and Le Lyaud (F). It has a subsidiary (Brepols Publishing Services EPE) in Thessaloniki (GR). Brepols has an overall staff of 45 employees.
